James Steel Productions is a general management and creative consultancy company specialising in new musical theatre and live performance. Based in the UK and working internationally, we support productions across all stages — from early development and pre-production through to delivery, touring, and close.

Our core focus is general management: we provide practical, hands-on support across budgeting, contracting, licensing, Equity compliance, scheduling, reporting, and stakeholder communication. We work across subsidised and commercial models, with a focus on efficiency, transparency, and financial clarity.

Alongside our general management services, we produce original work independently and in partnership with other producers. Projects include USHERS: The Front of House Musical (Arts Theatre, West End, Charing Cross Theatre, The Other Palace, The Hope Theatre and Edinburgh Fringe), Daniel’s Husband (Marylebone Theatre), Fly More Than You Fall (Southwark Playhouse) Starring Kela Settle. We also consult on international projects and provide strategic support to rights holders and creatives developing new musicals for export.
